Hanna the Angel

Hello Parents:

One of my dearest friends and God-Mother to my three girls has been involved in a program called Hanna’s Dream.  Hanna is a six year old little girl who had a dream of providing art supplies for children who are less fortunate as a means to help them express themselves and to hopefully help them support their community in the future.

Over the last several years with Girl Scouts we have made several donations of items to different charities and collected items for the homeless for the last year.  Over the next year my goal is to focus on Hanna’s Dream in helping them with their goal by spreading the word about her dream and by collecting art supplies that are needed for the program.

You will find on the Event Troop Community Service Projects page a break down of what we will be collecting during which month for the 2009 - 2010 Girl Scout Year.

I will be reaching out to our Girl Scout Neighborhood and asking them for their support towards Hanna’s Dream also.

Hanna is a great inspiration for all of us.  She is a young girl that had a great dream of helping others as shown on her web-site.  We teach the girls that helping others is extremely important.  We are always trying to teach the girls that no matter how young or small you are that you can make a difference in the world.  I think that Hanna is a great example of what we are trying to teach the girls.

This year we have three girls that are bridging up from our Brownie Troop and they will be working on their Bronze Award.  The Bronze Award is the highest achievement that a Junior Girl Scout can recieve.

These girls will be focusing on how to promote and spread the word about Hanna's Dream through the Bronze Award recognition program.

Unfortunately Hanna passed away on Friday, April 17, 2009, in a car accident just a few days prior to her seventh birthday.  I have provided below two links regarding the car accident that she was involved in for your review.

This is a terribly situation and I can’t even imagine what the family is going through after losing their daughter.

When Hanna passed away she donated several of her organs to help four other people to live longer lives, just another example of what we need to do set an example for our own children to make the world a better place.

I hope that we will be able to get everyone’s support with Hanna’s Dream so that her dream can live on.  Feel free to forward Hanna’s Dream web-site to anyone that you think would be interested in helping out.  I have sent Robin (Hanna’s Mom) an e-mail expressing our support for the program and asking what additional support we can provide to the cause.
